The twelve stylists, all young and hip, of course, provide everything from standard cuts and color to Japanese straightening, while a DJ provides background beats on weekends. Spa treatments like mani-pedis, massages, and Brazilian slimming (a detoxing weight loss massage) take place in back rooms. Amazing Talented/Smart Hair Stylist @ Chelsea Salon “ Randy (she's Black and Asian American) is amazing at doing hair! My sister goes to her for Color, Highlights and Cuts. She always looks amazing! I had an amazing keratin conditioning treatment that repairs damage an adds shine and strength to your hair. I did an amazing top of the line Japanese Straightener called "Liscio Crystal". It made my hair feel amazing. I can wear my hair straight or straight with body. My hair feels amazing!! I love that I am able to create volume or curls and wear it straight too. Best Hair Salon & Hair Dresser in NY!!!!!!! “ I had to write a review about Platinum Salon because it's so hard to find a great hair dresser, good location, clean & friendly establishment. I've been coming to Stylist Peter Diaz for over 10 years now. Formerly, I was a loyal Bumble& Bumble client. I've had the great pleasure of following the blooming career of Peter all over NY. Now with a place to call his own leaves me with only great things to say about Platinum Salon, from the ever so polite and accommodating Blake at the front desk to Peter the most talented hair stylist in NY. I have very thick long black hair that gets a precision cut when it's wet and once styled gets a quick look over for any necessary dry shaping as well. The finished look is long but textured. This same technique that was performed on me at B&B for 1/2 the price. I must admit I'm very particular about my cut and NEVER have i been made to feel like a problem client. Instead I get a glass of wine when I walk thru the door and an eager stylist to make me look like a million bucks everytime I come in. ”   LastLooks – 6/22/2009

Don't belive all the reviews “ BUT I do believe the other review about the crazy man yelling at all the staff after my experience there.... I have never been treated with such a HUGE attitude as I was treated by the owner last night. The stylist I had didn't give me the right color, but promised to fix the first color for free(I still paid, gosh I am too nice) BUT when I went back for the fix, they wanted to charge me after all! The owner is a bully, and instead of feeling pampered, with beautiful hair...I felt disappointed since I had liked the salon in the past for a blowouts. The compliments just keep coming! Katelyn is a true artist! “ I received an email somehow from pt salon with a gift certificate attatched. Truthfully, all I wanted to do was dump it into my trash bin and SPAM them. For some reason I decided to look a little futher because I was in need of a trim and recently became very irritated with the never ending price hikes at my upper east side salon. The reviews on here were great so I gave it a try. I decided to see a gold stylist named Katelyn. First off, she was truly genuine and not all into herself like my last hairdresser. It was very refreshing. She ended up cutting a really cute angled bob with bangs and was very precise about it. It looks great! I have never colored my hair because I did not want to deal with the maintenance. She recommended that I get highlights. I did not get them at that time. The next day at the office I got so many great reviews on my new cut that I decided to take her up on her color recomendation. She gave beautiful sun kissed highlights. I have not been this obsessed with my hair since I was in grade school. I love it! My friends and family love it! My husband says i'm HOTT! I could not be more happy with my new style. If you are on here looking for a change like I was, I would look no further and book an appointment with her. P.S. My first app was in the morning so I did not know they served wine. Jamie is the best! “ I happened to be on 23rd street at the little vintage clothing store when I found this great salon. I hated my last haircut and my color was getting brassy, so I thought I'd pop in and see if they could help me. They got me in right away, and Jamie took care of me. She gave me one of the best cuts I've ever had, and put a nice glaze on my hair that made the color look really beautiful. It was so nice to be listened to at a salon, every step of the way. And she's not just a great stylist, she's such a cool chick, which made me feel comfortable and easy going, not like some other places. I had a great time there, and I'll definitely be back. Plus, I can't believe how affordable it is, and in this recession when money is super-tight, that's definitely a big plus. Christine is the ISH!!! “ The other night I had a show in NYC and needed a new look... quick. I went into Platinum Salon in a hurry without an appointment and was lucky enough to sit in stylist Christine's chair. Not only was she quick, she was thorough and cared about how my hair came out. She was super skilled and shaped me up just like I like it. I truly felt like a rockstar after sitting in her chair. Go to Christine!! Shes amazing.... “ i discovered Platinum on my way to a friends house one night before out night out on the town. I stopped in to check out their prices and was greeted by a young woman by the name of Christine. She was extremly welcoming and immediately offered to take my coat and offered me a glass of wine. Being that i was going out and needed a blowout, i decided to give her a shot. She shampooed me herself and gave me a power dose treatment that put the life back into my hair. I couldn't beleive that this treatment gave such great results for the mere 5 minutes that it was in my hair!!! I'm usually very picky about my blowouts, but Christine took the time to listen to my concerns and gave me the best blowout i've ever had!!! And she got it all done in 25 minutes!!...NOT an easy thing to do with the amount of hair i have. When all was said and done, i left feeling like a new woman ready to go out and party.
