Above and beyond! by dante f. at InsiderPages “ I rolled up to Pacific Lock & Key on a 1982 BMW motorcycle with a rubbed-off, hand me down key and a set of luggage whose key blanks have been out of production since the late 1990s. Not only did Joe (Pacific Lock & Key's resident Jedi) find a way to re-create the ignition key, he actually FABRICATED a luggage key. I stood in awe as trial and error brought us closer and closer to a solution. In the end, I rode off with two perfectly functioning keys and the biggest imaginable grin. Unacceptable Employee Conduct by justin f. at InsiderPages “ My girlfriend bounced a check. It happens. What did this company do? They didn't call, they didn't write. Instead they had an employee knock on our door at 8am on a Sunday morning, demanding she go to the bank and get out cash to pay him. Did he have documentation of the bad check with him? No. The employee accused my girlfriend of trying to cheat him repeatedly, and brought her to tears. When I called the manager of the company, he defended his employee and offered no apology or the like. If your reading this review, find another company. Weird about the bad reviews “ I've been using these guys for over 6 years. They've re-keyed a house so all the locks match, made dozens of copies of keys, unlocked a frozen door, I've never experienced any problems with them. If I had, I sure wouldn't have kept using them. There is a bit of a language barrier, but the owner, at least, knows his stuff. I plan to keep using them and have recommended them to several friends who also have used them multiple times. ”   ebethw – 4/2/2008

Fast, helpful service that is reasonably priced. “ I saw the bad reviews for this company, and since I have actually had them out to my house and working on my rental, I thought I would counter the bad reviews. Possibly the reason why they thought the person on the phone was rude is because there is a language barrier. The people who work and own here are Asian, and not all of them speak great English. I have never had an experienced the rudeness those callers spoke of. They are prompt in their service - once coming out within a half hour to my home when one of my children locked themselves into our only bathroom. They are very reasonably priced - the bill is always less than I expect it to be. They are knowledgeable - they have always been able to quickly fix my problem. Terrible service! “ They are sooooo rude! They sent my payment to the wrong address so I hadn't recieved it. A rude woman called and asked me "what my excuse was" for not paying my bill. I hadn't even got the bill yet, and as I tried to explain to her, she was extremely rude, didn't listen and rather insult me over the phone. It's not like I couldn't afford the $100 dollar bill, they sent it to the wrong address. They don't deserve anyone's hard earned money and business if this is the way they are going to treat their customers! ”   urusai – 2/2/2007

Sneering at your customers? by Red M. at InsiderPages “ I've done business with Pacific Lock and Key twice and I wouldn't ever do business with them again. I'm not sure what it is, but why they would laugh at their customer's misfortune is beyond me. I'm sure I'll have plenty of lock and key business in the future and it will certainly go to someone else. In the first instance, we had moved into our house and that same day locked ourselves out at about midnight. Of course we were shocked and scared and had no idea what to do, but luckily hadn't moved in the yellow pages yet, so we found the most local place we could and called for help. Well, they were not pleased to get the call that late even though they advertised as 24 hour. However, they came out and let us in, but they were certainly not happy about it (hint, neither were we, that's why we called them!!) Well, about 2 weeks later we locked ourselves out again. Oops! These things happen when you move I guess. Well, we like doing business with the same places so we called them, this time in the middle of the day. Well, they remembered us and basically laughed at us between themselves and were pretty rude. Did I mention the almost $100 charge? I don't think we deserved being laughed at or made fun-of. ”   Citysearch User – 8/20/2006
