Very Knowledgeable and Super Personable “ I first met Mary at Anytime Fitness in Fremont where her office was literally a closet. (I think other reviewers have mentioned this as well--definitely very up close and personal!) Even though you barely had room to turn around, Mary utilized every inch to make the space cozy(not sterile or prison-ish) and filled her shelves with examples of different herbs and supplements. I am a visual person and having the opportunity to see something with which she was recommending I supplement my diet was very helpful. Her new location on Phinney Ridge is fantastic! Very spacious and inviting--we chatted on plush couches and drank tea while discussing my nutritional needs. I think I have a pretty good handle on how to eat well and feel that I do a decent job eating veggies/avoiding junk food. Mary has been helpful to me in adding supplements to my diet. She has given me numerous recipes that are simple and flavorful. A couple of friends of mine and I decided to do a 2 week detox program with Mary last fall. It was a good experience. The program was not extreme, but was meant to cleanse our bodies from the toxins we get from everyday life. It was fun to do this with friends and Mary made the transition off of sugar, caffeine, dairy, etc doable. I still follow some of the recommendations from that detox program now. Overall, I think Mary is a professional, knowledgeable nutritionist who incorporates all of what is going on with you into her recommendations. ”
NO Judgment Nutrition Advice “ I began to see Mary because of some hormonal imbalances I was experiencing, that were causing me to gain and abnormal amount of weight. My schedule being insane, I wasn't able to get into her as often as I had hoped, so I kind of had to resurface several months later and start over. This time around, I have felt more focused on the health issues that I am trying to tackle, including the most terrible allergy symptoms ever, my continued sloth-like metabolism, and general reduced energy. Mary is SO great at getting to the bottom of what I want to work on, and then helping me to make specific changes to help those issues. She also is totally non-judgmental about what habits you have coming in the door to see her. If you're a burger and fries for lunch everyday kind of person, she will NEVER make you feel bad about it, and won't ask you to switch to brocolli and brown rice everyday instead. She really only supports realistic changes for people, to increase the chances of your new habits actually sticking long-term. I'm happy to report that my allergies are much improved since I have cut back on some of the foods she felt might be contributing to my symptoms. I also have noticed some of my weight shedding. Overall, I'm very pleased with my experiences and would suggest Mary if you're looking to make slow, but permanent changes towards a healthier life. ”
