Bad service “ Dr. was curteous and professional but service was horrible. The older woman working the front desk was rude, continually making unnecessary comments. Will not go back because of this. Only went because it was close to my work. Another co-worker also echoed my feelings and will also not going there in the future. ”

Not good “ Went there because it's in downtown and close to work. Mistake. They gave me the wrong prescription for my contacts, so I returned and got new testing done. Their staff do not pay attention to detail. They were supposed to call me when my contacts came in or if they did not get it by a certain date. No calls, so I called them. They were nice enough to give me some free contacts to accomodate my traveling schedule. Overall, I would not suggest going there and I will be looking for a new place come next year. ”
Avoid at all costs. “ I had a horrible experience at this shop. First, I've gone there before and when I called to make an appointment they didn't bother to mention that my usual doctor was no longer there. Imagine my surprise when I showed up for my appointment and was greeted by a totally different person. Next, they are mostly just rude there. They double charged me and they billed my insurance for a service I didn't even have done causing me to end up with all sorts of other troubles when I went to a different shop to get new glasses. I would not recommend this place to anyone. To top it off I just found out that my contacts were recalled. They never contacted me to discuss this. I had to find it out for myself. ”
Inefficient & Terrible Customer Service “ I had my exam done there because it was so conveniently located by my work downtown. When I came back a week later, my prescription had been lost; neither the doctor nor the clinic could tell me how, when or where it may have been misplaced. (This was in Dec2006)
I came back (in Jan2007) only because I had found glasses I liked there at my last visit, after I had to go get another prescription. The girl I had talked to several times began filling out the same forms I had filled out for price, how far apart my eyes are, etc at that last visit, because she still didn't remember me. I asked if my frames would be covered for 2006 since that was my original exam and frame inquiry but she wasn't going to do it until the other doctor made it clear that it would be as simple as changing the date on the form. Bottom line: They don't ask if you need help until you've been standing around for 10 minutes. They are inefficient at filing your information. There is not effort to build customer relations. They are conveniently located on Olive and have nice frames, but it's not worth the trouble. ”
Insightful by victoria h. at InsiderPages “ I had spent weeks trying to get rid of a sty on my upper eyelid. I went to my group health practitioner and they gave me the predictable Internet remedies that did little to heal the sty. I worked above Dr. Viola Gay's office and asked for her advice. After thoroughly examining my eye she gave me some extremely helpful tips and within the week the swelling subsided and my sty was gone. She is an excellent practitioner. ”
Friendly by Brian L. at InsiderPages “ I was using the weed whacker at home and it kicked up a small rock and hit me directly in the eyeball. The pain was horrible. I waited one day (mostly out of my reluctance to go to the doctor) and then in the middle of my work day I decided it was too much. Globe optical is located across the street from my office so I decided to give it a try. Dr. Viola Gay was able to see me right away. She was so kind, explained to me what had happened to my eye and told me what to expect in the next few days. Though it turned out not to be a serious injury, she offered numbing drops but told me I probably wouldnt need them. She was so friendly, gentle and professional I would recommend her to anyone. ”
User review by irrelevant “ Extremely personable and comfortable staff! I have never had a better time at the eye doctor. Highly recommended. ”
