Beware - One of the stylists will not take black customers “ A friend of mine brought her daughter in the other day to have her hair cut and styled. I have found my hairstylist! “ I was out shopping one day and saw a woman with a very nice haircut/style. I stopped her to compliment her and ask who does her hair. She replied very enthusiastically with, "Rachel at Bubbles on 16'th and Walnut". She gave me the phone number, and I called the next day to schedule an appointment. Now, this woman was caucasian, and I am African American. I had no idea if this Rachel would be able to do my hair or not. Didn't know what she looked like, but the receptionist on the phone said that she could do it. When I went in for my appointment, this petite blonde introduced herself with a warm smile. She was very thorough with asking me questions, and making suggestions. Now, I had to ask her, because I always ask before I let someone new do my hair, if she likes being a hairdresser. She responded without hesitation that she loves it! That gave me such trust in her. I had a touch up relaxer, and had her cut it into a new style. I am so happy with my hair, and scheduled to have her do a wash blowdry and curl for this week. I am looking forward to going back. ”   Phillystar – 6/4/2009

BEST stylist EVER “ Before going to Bubbles Salon I had never went to ANY other stylist except for a woman in my hometown. I was desperate for a cut/color so after being referred to Bubbles from a friend I decided to give it a shot. Best decision EVER. I called that day and was able to get an appointment, which was awesome. My stylist was Nicolas and I am not kidding this man made my hair look gorgeous. I have been receiving complements non-stop and I feel great! Nicolas was very understanding of how nervous I was (having never gone to another stylist before), but after he explained what he wanted to do and showed me the colors he wanted to use I felt very confident and I knew then that he was extremely talented. I would recommend Nicolas in a heart-beat. He made the process fun because he's hilarious and he made my hair look natural and beautiful. It was great that he actually explained his thoughts and then did exactly what he said he was going to do. He's amazing! The salon itself is great too...good atmosphere: nice people and clean salon! Most personable staff “ After getting a terrible haircut at the "chop shop" where i left with a mullet.... i called bubbles in desperate need for help. their stylist Shante quickly came to my rescue. since she and i were the same age, we had lots of fun things to talk about:) she was sympathetic to my terrible cut and shaped it nicely around my face. she immediately earned my business, and i will go back to her every time :) ”   marietherese – 1/21/2009

Great stylists, great price “ I tend not to get attached to one stylist - I rarely find one that can do a good job consistently. But Amanda at Bubbles Salon is great. Yes, she's a little stand-offish... but who cares? She gives me a great enough haircut that it looks great even as it grows out. I've had two other stylists at Bubbles in the past, and as far as I can tell, they're all equally talented and professional. $40 is certainly more than you'd pay at most bargain cut places, but its quite reasonable for the quality. Best Highlight and Cut “ I went to Bubbles for the first time and my hairstylist was Erica. I was nervous going to a new stylist but Erica did a superb job. She did my highlights, lifted my base, did an eyebrow wax and also gave me a hair cut. She did an excellent job! She listened to what I had to say and gave me exactly what I wanted. Customer service was superb!! “ I went to get a cut, shampoo and style. Kevin did my cut, I thought he cut too much off, but I really needed it. Trish did my shampoo and style. I felt like I was in heaven. The service turned out great and I totally recommend this place to everyone. You cannot beat the price!! $40 and I left a great tip as well because the deserved it.
