Dr. Edmund Chein heads the Life Extension Institute in Palm Springs, California, where he discovered that bioidentical hormones activate telomerase, which in turn lengthen the telomere portion of the DNA in our cells. The telomere control the cell aging process. Bioidentical hormone therapy is differentiated from other hormone therapies using synthetic hormones, pharmaceutical company-made hormones, chemical hormones and more. Those therapies are also called hormone therapies, but they are not bioidentical hormone therapy (they are actually drug therapy with drugs that act like hormones).
Bioidentical hormone therapy involves measuring all your body’s bioidentical hormones, finding out their level and optimizing them to a 20-year-old level. We adjust the hormone dosages, making sure that we are not over- or under-dosing.
Look and Feel Younger
Say, for example, that a 45-year-old woman comes to our Institute and wants to look and feel younger, and have a younger body. She doesn’t have any diseases that she knows of, but she lacks energy and is slightly overweight. She knows she doesn’t feel – or look – like she did when she was 20. She is getting old. She is aging.
We would take several tubes of her blood, usually five, and we measure all the hormones in her body. We send them to the lab and wait for the lab report to come back. Usually, it will show many of her hormone levels to be low as compared to that of a 20-year-old (say her daughter).
That is the cause of aging. If you compare the 45-year-old’s blood to that of her 20-year-old daughter, the daughter’s hormone levels would be a lot higher than hers. Our job then is to change the levels in her body to equal that of her daughter, so that in six months no doctor in this world can tell whose blood it belongs to – the daughter or the mother.

Our goal is to supplement and adjust the dosages of all your hormones. You could be 50, 90, or however old you are, we make your blood look like the blood of a 20-year-old. That means that in just half a year, no doctor could tell the difference between your blood and the blood of a 20-year-old when we are done.
