Professional Window Washing

John Pletz | November 25, 2009

Facilities that are clean and well-kept enhance a company’s image, and nowhere is that more important that when it comes to windows. John Pletz is CEO of ServiceMaster Clean by Pletz, based in Crystal Lake, Illinois, talks here about how a clean window really does say a lot about a business.

A spotlessly clean and well-kept business can enhance your company’s image, which is why it’s so critical that professional be done on a regular basis. We can provide daily, weekly or monthly cleaning services to make sure your standards are kept high.

Monthly and Quarterly

We recommend that windows be done on the outside monthly, and quarterly inside and out. That front door is doing to be the first impression that anybody has of your business. Make sure it is clean – and get the right people in to do it.

Your nightly janitorial staff should be spot cleaning your windows in between visits from us, and they should do that by moving in various positions, squatting down and looking at various angles. It can be dark at night but they need to make a special effort to get rid of smudges and spots.

Special Skills Set

Make sure that you keep the blades on your squeegee and scrapers clean, and change their rubber bits often. And make sure that when you are washing the windows that you always work down toward the bottom window, starting at the top, and take time to always wipe excess water from the windowsills. That’s a tough one. is a skill set that you are either good at or you’re not, which is why hiring a trained professional is the best idea.

Walk into a facility sometimes that has really dirty windows. Tell me you want to do business there. No, you don’t. That’s why it’s so important to keep your windows clean, as they really are a reflection on you.
